Mary Campbell
Mary Campbell came late to boating but has been making up for lost time.
For the last 25 years, she has been cruising the Alaskan Inside Passage in her Colvin schooner and then her Cascade 36 sloop. Her travels have taken her throughout South East Alaska, across the Gulf of Alaska to Seward, Prince William Sound, the Kenai Peninsula, and the Katmai Region. She has circumnavigated Vancouver Island and Moresby Island. She has extensively explored the southern half of Haida Gwaii.
She has also sailed in warmer climes, including the Sea of Cortez, Mexico’s Pacific Coast, the north and east coasts of Australia, and Indonesia. She sailed across the Pacific Ocean from Hawaii to Darwin Australia.
Still, her favorite cruising destinations are Prince William Sound and Haida Gwaii. Their pristine coastline and rugged beauty present a last frontier of coastal cruising.
Mary particularly appreciates cruising where the sight of another vessel is a welcome surprise and the land and water mammals outnumber the human ones.

Mary took part in the Salish 100 rally in 2022. Mary is now sailing a Precision 18 racing boat which she plans to sail in the Salish 100 rally in 2023.
