Spent much of the day preparing to leave for La Paz by clearing in and out of the Port Captain’s office, doing laundry, provisioning, and getting rid of the used engine oil from the oil change we did in Turtle Bay. We change the engine oil every 100 hours.
Provisioning was easier than on my previous trips to Mexico because there are Costco and Walmart superstores here in Cabo. They are almost identical to their American counterparts. I ate peperoni pizza and a diet Coke at Costco just like I used to do at the Costco in Kirkland Washington. Same great pizza and same good prices.
Went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant touted by one of the many people selling timeshares. He seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the restaurant. In truth it as not a very good restaurant.
It was difficult sleeping in the marina because of the noise from the surrounding entertainment establishments. The noise went on until at least 3:00 AM. A day or two in the marina at Cab San Lucas is useful to get the boat cleaned up and to run errands. After that it is probably better to stay in the anchorage which is both quieter and cheaper.
