Monday June 19: Side Trip to Kingcome Inlet

We departed Echo Bay Marina at 7:45 to make a side trip to Kingcome Inlet.

Kingcome Inlet is a picturesque glacier carved fiord. It stretches for 12 miles. At its head, is a river that is home to a first nations village. Mountains tower on either side of the inlet. Down their sides course waterfalls. Near the head of the inlet is a modern pictograph in red paint measuring 28 feet wide and 35 feet tall. It was painted by native artist Marianne Nicolson.

We returned to Echo Bay Marina to spend the night. Mary captured this panoramic image of Echo Bay.
