I flew from San Jose del Cabo to Orange County to spend Christmas and New Year with my sisters in Newport Beach. I was there from December 22 to Jan 2. While in Newport Beach, I took delivery of an inflatable kayak I purchased through Amazon. My brother in law David, my sister Janis, and I visited a kayak shop in Newport Beach to purchase a paddle, dry bag, PFD (life jacket), and bilge pump for the kayak. We took their kayaks and my new inflatable kayak for a trail run in the back bay of Newport Harbor. The inflatable kayak worked well, and the kayak paddle was very light and easy to handle. I had purchased the very expensive light weight kayak paddle because an article I read said that having a good paddle makes a big difference. David and Janis tried the paddle and agreed that the paddle did indeed make a difference.
My sister Pam and I drove to San Diego and visited the San Diego Zoo. We both enjoy the zoo immensely and try to visit the San Diego Zoo or the San Diego Wild Animal Park nearly every year at Christmas time.
I flew back from Orange County Airport to San Jose del Cabo Airport heavily loaded down with luggage, the inflatable kayak, and with electrical wire, electrical outlets, and other parts I planned to install on the boat. It took so long to clear customs and pay the import duties that I missed my scheduled shuttle van from the airport in San Jose del Cabo to La Paz. Fortunately, there was one remaining seat on the last shuttle of the day, and I was able to catch it. I arrived back in La Paz late in the evening and very tired but glad to have arrived without incident.
