Sunday, May 21: Dockton to Shilshole Marina, Seattle

We awoke to evidence of overnight rain on the decks. We motored out to central Puget Sound under heavy cloud cover, watching for ferries and Sunday sailors as we headed to Shilshole.

When we arrived at Shilshole marina, we hastily emptied the waste holding tank and refilled our two 44 gallon fresh water tanks. We visited the Shilshole Marina office to check in and obtain key cards to gain access to the marina's bath and laundry rooms. The facilities at Shilshole Marina have recently been remodeled, and they are very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed having long hot showers after our last ones in Olympia.

At 3:00 PM, we were joined by Phil’s AppSheet friends Praveen, Mary, Jenny, Camilla, Kevin and Gil for a fun - although chilly - tour of the Puget Sound coastline. We spent about an hour powering north toward Edmonds and then south back to Shilshole Marina. We saw evidence that the large cruise ships are back, when we were passed by a Holland America cruise ship headed North. Mary Campbell prepared and served a variety of snacks which we all enjoyed.
