We arrived in La Paz early in the morning. We anchored at about 7:30 after nearly going aground looking for a spot to anchor. After getting a little sleep, we started contacting the local marina by VHF radio to try to get a slip. After a rather long delay, we arranged to get slip 313 at Marina Palmira.
I spent almost two hours talking with Ken Howe who owns the Baba 35 “Drifter” in the adjoining slip in the marina. He had a lot of useful information about La Paz, water makers, and other cruising topics.
John and I walked the two or three miles into town along the malecon and had dinner at a taco stand. Afterward we had ice cream at La Fuente.
Purchased Fuel: 192 liters from Marina Palmira at 10.91 pesos/liter
