Mary Campbell and went ashore and had breakfast at Casa Pacific Bed and Breakfast. Their restaurant was closed for the season but they served a nice breakfast of banana and nut pancakes and fresh fruit to us anyway. We met a couple from Montana. Zane was born in Montana and visited Mazatlan while in college. While in Mazatlan he met Gloria and they married and moved to Montana. They were visiting Mexico by car and were staying at Casa Pacific Bed and Breakfast. They were very entertaining. After breakfast, we returned to the Michoacan ice cream store and got ice cream.
We checked out with the Port Captain over the VHF radio and departed for Jaltemba at about 12:45.
We arrived here in Jaltemba at about 14:30 and anchored in the lee of Isla la Pena in Bahia Jaltemba to snorkel. There were lots of colorful and interesting fish around the rocky shores of the island.
After snorkeling, we moved the boat, anchored in nearby Rincon de Guaybitos, and went ashore in the dinghy. We asked the young man at a local parking lot about the best local restaurant. He strongly recommended the Vista restaurant. We took a brief taxi ride to reach the restaurant. The restaurant had stunning views of the entire bay and the food was excellent.
